Part 1. January Entry

Book Title: Died in Plain Sight by Elizabeth Lowell

Truth to be told, my thoughts were fed up with the reality that life itself, happy it may seem for others sometimes, can also be dreadful and a full-load bucket of lies, blood and devastating secrets that can kill life itself. I realized that there are certain people who exists in this world. There are really those kinds of people who treat themselves wickedly and even spread this wickedness to other people that has severe bad effects to their loved ones. There are also people who are naturally cold-hear ted. How could a parent disregard their child because they can't cope or be as good as their parents and can't meet their expectations? Why should they force their child to follow their path if their child themselves are creating their own path and building their own pavements in their own freewill. What they need is their parent's full support in reaching their dreams and in pursuit of their happiness. There are also people who are unjust. There's no thing as "just" in this world. The enlightened might have been long lived, but some turned out wicked, in its simplest sense, the bad ones and eating the good ones. I don;t know how, but I certain it is. People become more materialistic, even paintings can decide ones life or death.

While reading some part in this book, a story from my father flash backed into my thoughts. And I just thought that this story is somewhat related to Lacey Quinn and her father's past.
My father once told me about his sad youth days.He once told me that when he was in high school, he wanted to join the prom but he wan't able to because his parents hesitated to let him to. He said his ambition and dream was to become a pilot but his parents didn't allowed him and insisted on becoming an accountant instead. They always decided on their own since no one will stop them and as they always thought, that "A parent knows what's best for their child" without even considering their child's desires in his life. He said that he really wanted to study in Mindanao State University when he was about to go enter college but his parents didn't allowed him so he studied in Notre Dame of Dadiangas University instead. His parents always thought what's best for him but it turned out that it wasn't, maybe for them it is but for him it wasn't. He had a very hard time coping with his colleagues in college. He once told me that when he was in high school, he wanted to join the prom but he wan't able to because his parents hesitated to let him to..

Honestly, I finished reading the book but there are really certain parts that I don't quite get the thought yet. There are still questions forming in the hind back part inside my head. I wonder how Grandpa Rainbow painted those bloody murders without anybody seeing him. Did he painted it during the actual murder? Was he always there? If that's the case, that would be really creepy. I also wondered if Lacey died in Savoy Ranch during that rainy afternoon when she and Ian was shoot by Ward Savoy, would Lewis Marten a.k.a David Quinn or Grandpa Rainbow painted her dead too? I don't know what Lacey's parents reaction after knowing that Grandpa Rainbow was actually alive or maybe they're one of the people who knows that he was still alive and didn't even let Lacey know. Are they criminals or do they have some connection with the Savoys or Forrests?

Although Ward already died, the case was still partially solved. I still think that there's still bad going to happen since Lewis Marten was actually alive and there were still Savoys alive and most importantly the Savoy ranch there still lies. I thought that maybe there is going to be another Savoy entering the scene and Lacey Quinn's life will be at stake for still keeping the painting of her Grandfather since she haven't sold them to Rarities Unlimited. And maybe if Lacey Quinn will finally meet Death's scythe, Lewis Marten will paint her all-time favorite grandchild's death, stroking every detail of blood coming out of her body.
